Pertamina Balikpapan

Pertamina Balikpapan is a refinery situated on east coast of Borneo in Indonesia

It forms part of the RDMP Phase 1—which will increase the refinery’s crude processing capacity to 360,000 b/d from 260,000 b/d as well as enable production of fuels that conform to Euro 2-quality specifications—currently is scheduled for completion in 2021.

The RDMP programme is a series of 5 projects that will be delivered over the next 10 years to meet the increasing demand of fuels for the further development of Indonesia.

David Mobbs was involved in the evaluation of the appropriate Fire Protection systems and Shiplo Zaman was involved in the specification review for the remaining part of the RDMP programme.
