Failure Analysis on steel can be complex but Failure Analysis on concrete adds many other levels of complexity which requires collaboration with the Civils teams to identify the Root Cause.
In this case, in the Middle East, a routing commissioning fill of concrete tanks revealed a delamination of the applied SF Epoxy system.
The project included the development of a Testing Protocol, Root Cause Analysis and proposals for rectification.

CIM established the root cause and offered a practical solution which was accepted by all parties.

CIM trained all personnel to ensure they were competent to carry out the work, developed a PQT for all contractors to ensure compliance.

The SF Epoxy was removed and a Polymer Modified Cementitious Coating successfully applied to the entire 60,000 m2 to the clients satisfaction.
